2014 ACT Secondary Schools Orienteering Championships

Congratulations to the 2014 ACT Secondary School
students who competed in this year’s ACT Secondary Schools Orienteering Championships last month. Fifty three students competed for their
schools. Ten ACT Secondary
Schools/Colleges were represented.

As well as racing
the ACT Secondary Schools Orienteering Championships and in the ACT Sprint
Distance Championships, each runner’s purpose was to get their school the best
placing possible. The scoring system was designed to make the outcome as fair
and as exciting as possible. To achieve this
points were awarded only to the fastest representative from each school as
follows: 1st 10pts, 2nd 7pts, 3rd 5pts, 4th
4 pts, 5th 3pts, 6th 2pts

Perpetual
trophies were awarded to first place in each category and for the Champion
Men’s and Women’s Schools and Colleges.
