The Bushflyers (BSA)


Predominantly a north side club, the Bushflyers have been one of the more successful Australian orienteering clubs and have produced a number of Australian champions and representatives.

Bushflyers News Page  Bushflyers Roster Compasses Uniform & E sticks The Bushflyers were formed around 1990 as a consequence of a merger between two of the original Canberra based orienteering clubs — the Northside Navigators and the Majura Macropods. The members are mainly from the north side of Canberra.

The Bushflyers have been one of the more successful Australian orienteering clubs and have produced a number of Australian champions and representatives. It has also been a regular winner of the ACT Club Championships.

The Bushflyers have regular social events known as Bushies Swarm. These are rather informal events rotating through members' houses and are a great way of getting to know each other. All are welcome.

We have recently introduced the Ian Booth Award in memory of one of our most active and influential members. This will be awarded to ther most improved Bushflyer at the Masters level. Our winner for 2011 was Pauli Piiroinen who has shown that even as a M70 great improvement is possible.  Robyn D'Ascenzo was the winner in 2012 showing significant performance in the W55 category.
